Well - this UFO has started to hang on the 'in progress' rack so long it's started needing to be dusted.... I really really enjoyed the piecing, and then decided to hand quilt it, and I am about - oh, halfway through... and ..... well, you know the rest... got interested in ten other things...
So - help me - how do you find the discipline to get back to a project that still needs lots of work but for which you just have lost the excitement? Do tell, do tell.... and thanks
Kate

very pretty....???? to your question.
Tell a loved one that the quilt is for them. They will nag you silly until it is done and in their hands.
1.You'll be so proud of a completion! 2.You'll be so glad to have it out of your hair. 3.You'll think of someone to give it to for a particular occasion, that the date/deadline is looming ahead. 4.Ask you friends if anyone wants to have it. I've been told sometimes what we have lost interest in, is just enough work for some else who is basically starting fresh.
And sometimes, the thought of giving the project up, is just enough motivation to get the job done!
Wow- what great ideas, guys. thanks. Kate
Not sure if this would work for you but ... I put my hand quilting near the TV. Dh spends so much time clicking, surfing, and when there actually IS a good program, it's a re-run, so in my exasperation, I do some kind of sewing! And I DO get a lot done! And I DO like so sit with him.
One more thing, it's a GREAT project during cold weather, and will keep you warm as you are quilting!
There are some things that have been a UFO for 10 years in my life! I'm not the best person for suggestions!

Peer pressure and the promise of a potential prize helped me finish up an eternal hand quilting project.
