I love these stripes, but I don't have any great ideas of what to do with them ... do you? If so, write a comment, tell me what you like to do with stripes (in general, not these specific ones)... and I'll choose at random! I think that they would make wonderful kaleidoscope designs..however I have not tried them as I am new to quilting.
LOVE stripes! my house is full of stripes... my couch, my rugs, my towels... and a UN-FINISHED quilt top made of stripes and polka dots that these would be great to have to finish that darn thing off!

I love to use stripes for the borders, even FQs can make small borders. They give such zap to a quilt.
I also like to use them as the center stripe in warm wishes quilts. They are fantastic in scrappies.

Stripes are wonderful for bindings, sashings, narrow inner borders. Fussy cut as block elements to add movement to the block as the stripes swirl around in the same direction. I have added your blog to my follow list!
Using an occasional stripe to frame a happy block makes it interesting. Also, can be the center square in the D9P.
I am a follower and I think I would make the Christmas present quilt but make it a birthday present quilt...oooohhhh so love those strips and colors....
Love stripes in my scrappy quilts. I'm with everyone else - love them in bindings or borders. But my favorite is mixing them with paisley, florals, marbles, they create such great interest.

Hi Kate, I collect striped fabric so that I can use my 6o degree triangle and cut triangles to sew together in blocks of consistently striped nature. (lines busily moving) Good thing I'm not writing a tutorial! Hee Hee

I saw some fantastic photos of flickr recently of someone who made a whole quilt by cutting the strip fabric on an angle and putting the blocks together to look like a target.

Stripe fabrics such as you show are the greatest for bindings as they really give that POW and WOW on a finishing. I also like to use them in wonky framed blocks as another textural look. I'm not a follower, but visit your site often.
I love stripes! I use them to border blocks and often for borders on the outside of the quilt. I can see them in baskets, pinwheels and all kinds of things. Love to combine stripes and plaids in a quilt for a man. I'll be following you too.
I'll 'ditto' the binding stripes - my favorite if I have them. Also, they make really great borders either on the bias or straight, as well as sashing! What great fabrics to use when a quilt needs a bit of ZIP!
My favorite use for stripes is for bindings and borders. I realize that is not a very original tip, but it sure works.

wow everyone I know is here making a comment-lol. Well, I dont own but one stripe, that is pink and brown, I use them for accents on stars, and I use them for pillowcase cuffs for charity gifts.

I love to bind quilts with stripes, but I also have seen a couple of examples on blogs (can't remember which ones) where they cut triangles all of the same stripe and sewed them together like an hourglass block. The stripes go around the block. The quilts done with those were very eyecatching.

I'm a follower, and those strips look like they want to go in the striped quilt that is currently in the design phase... ie, I have a cool idea and 3 striped fabrics, but have been waiting to find more in either fat quarters or the remnants at JoAnn's... patience is a virtue!

I think stripes add interest to a quilt. I would use these in a very scrappy quilt top, maybe also using some of my polka dot fabrics that I have been collecting. Would make for a very cheery, colorful quilt!

I am addicted to bias striped bindings, and love the look of narrow inner borders of stripes cut crosswise (but don't love mitering the corners). Actually, I love stripes, and plaids also, nearly anywhere on a quilt. Thanks for the fun giveaway!

I like to use striped fabric in quilts along with a variety of fabrics... a couple of these FQs may be nice with some Martha Negley fall leaves for an Autumn quilt (I feel another project coming on!). I like a varied stripe in the Hidden Wells pattern. Stripes are fun in hexagon quilts! I also like bias cut stripes as binding.
I absolutely LOVE stripes! They make great stop borders and binding! I also like to play with them and make 90 degree angles, etc. aka Kaffe Fassett! Stripes are the best!

I have been making 3 dimensional bow tie blocks for the mission quilts at my moms church. When you make them with striped fabric - the effect is amazing and a lot of fun. I have also been making pinwheel blocks with striped fabric and really like how they turned out too.
My mother and I use stripes for backing, binding, and borders. Some people use polka dots. We use stripes. I love it for backing because gives me straight lines for handquilting. Every quilt we've made in the last 2 years had one or more striped fabrics in them. Depending upon the repeat in the giveaway stripes, might try to make a Kaffe style striped block. Thanks for the giveaway.
I forgot to add to my comment that I am already a follower.
1. Great in 9-patches and (D9P), I often cut the squares on the bias. This gives movement to the quilt. put in the 4 corners of the block, with the stripes going from the middle square to the outer corner. Or in the alternate block with the 4-dark pieces - place them going two vertical, two horizontal.
2. Use to cut 60 degree diamonds for 6-pt stars. Increases the star-burst look.
3. Have used for sashing, cut on length wise, and crosswise grains. Gives an extra framed look to blocks, care needs to be used for direction of strips. This also uses way more fabric - but for a small quilt it will add punch. Here is photo link where I used A Navy/White stripe to frame the top of the bed and to bring the eye down toward the floor. 4. Like using in string quilts to break up the strips. with strings all running across the blocks, the stripe will add interest and oposite movement. Same photo shows Aqua/White stripe that draws the eye.
5. I also like to use in curved pieces. The Drunkards path works good for this, also the Rob Peter to Pay Paul, and I'm trying them in an Applecore scrap.
6. A green on green stripe can be used for applique leaves. Gives the appearance of veining without the work. A brown/grey will work great as an applique for a house or barn - looks like siding. The black/white shown in the photo would be great for House Block - reminds me of shingles on a roof.
7. I LOVE stripe fabric - I beleive that it can be used to interest and movement to a simple quilt block. I often will fussy cut to increase this since of movement - don't be afraid to use on the bias within a block, not just for the bindings.
8. Have tried in a Double Wedding Ring - where the 4 arcs meet. When I could remember to get them going in the right direction - it formed an "X" or a "BOX" pattern. I did spend alot of time ripping out and turning the squares. So, I will not do this again.

Bindings - either bias or with the stripes running on the width, not the length. I made a bow tie quilt with all stripes. It came out terrific. Also make children's applique quilts with coloring book animals out of stripes, plaids and polka dots. Thank you for sharing.

I'm not sure what the next Bonnie Hunter mystery is going to be, but I'm trying to get some interesting fabrics to have available when it starts in a month or so. Also, I'm going to try to do some trees from the tutorial on Joanna's Applique Today (http://appliquetoday.blogspot.com/) and stripes seem like they might just be the thing.
I like to use stripes when I bind a quilt or when I make a pillow.
I love stripes for bindings on quilts. They are lovely in quilt blocks also for adding pizazz to a quilt.

Mix with my collection of polka dots, I think a rail fence would be a good use for these fabrics. I would make a top and donate it to a local guild who makes quilts for kids in the hospitol.

I just love stripes. They give a variety of color and movement in a quilt. Since I have become more and more a scrap quilter stripes are everywhere in them.
Borders, binding, sashing, fussy cut into diamonds for a lone star, or Lemoyne star, backing for doll quilts and use the lines to guide your quilting, accent borders on funky caterpillar quilts for kids and QOV,a little flange fake border or piping next to the binding, etc. I think I follow you in my google reader, but I can change that so that a follower shows up. How generous you are with your stripes - I covet all of mine.
Hi Ann S., Becky, Mary, Lovie -- boy it's nice to see a lot of my online buddies. I, too, love to use stripes as binding -- it just adds such a zing! I have recently noticed folks using stripes to surround a block and it too really makes the blocks sing. I also really want to make Terry Atkinson's quilt that uses a stripe. Darn, can't remember the name and too lazy to go upstairs but I am pretty sure it is in her book Time Out Quilts. A very simple quilt where she uses the stripe in both directions. It really talks to me. (Note to self ... get a few UFO's done so you can start that stripe quilt.)

I like the look on a table runner of using stripes as a frame, cutting the corners and matching up the stripes to make a true frame. It really looks nice.

Along with the great ideas everyone has stated I have another that I have been going to try for a while with striped fabric.
I would love to cut up the stripes into small triangles type pieces and use in a confetti quilt. The brown would make wonderful hills and valleys. I feel they all could be made to give a lot of contrast, texture, depth and varying colour in a confetti landscape quilt.

I have to ditto all the binding comments. I think they are difficult to work with in a quilt (get straight, match orientation, etc) but I love them in bindings!!
